BTG Advisory Committee Recognition Event
We will be celebrating our accomplishments over the past 5 years and recognizing and thanking our Advisory Committee members for their contributions and support.
Young Adult Alumni Panel Discussion
The Young Adult Panel will be made up of young people who have been involved in the child welfare system, and who are ready to share their experiences as they navigate their way into independence. This is an opportunity for other youth and providers the chance to hear firsthand how these young individuals use their strengths to overcome some of their challenges.
Resume Writing
In this workshop we’ll break down resumes, discuss what should be on yours, and share strategies for making a strong first impression and getting the job or internship you want.
Cooking 101
Learn how to eat healthy on a budget and spruce up a basic bowl of ramen. In 45 minutes, we’ll talk common myths and misconceptions about nutrition, learn some basics of food prep, and have a live cooking demonstration for you to follow.

Young Parents Workshop
Open to teen and young adult parents and expecting parents
Are you a young parent seeking support for you and your child? Come join us for an hour of power in our Young Parents Group. Meet other young parents, get support on parenting and advice for sticky situations, and share your experiences—they may help someone else!
Music Appreciation
In this workshop we will share our love and appreciation of music by connecting our thoughts, words and expression. Come and hear some inspiring upcoming artists as they speak on their musical journey with a moment for them to offer a musical selection. In the same spirit you will be given the opportunity to share in words or musical item.
How’s and What’s of Independent Living
Open to youth ages 17-21
Learn how to apply and navigate the application process for NYCHA/ housing lotteries. Already have a voucher? Learn how to find your new voucher friendly land lord!

Youth Leadership Council Open Meeting
Open to all teens and young adults
Join The Jewish Board’s Youth Leadership Council for an open meeting and discussion. Youth Leadership Council is a safe space for teens and young adults to connect with other youth, build advocacy skills, and raise your voice.
Healthy Relationship Bingo
Open to youth ages 13-17
Through Bingo we’ll playfully learn about building healthy relationships… and win prizes! The game covers topics like: things to look out for in a relationship, relationship red flags, obstacles for a healthy relationship, relationship green flags, and skills to build a healthy relationship.
Young Entrepreneurs
Learn how to put your creativity and talents to work for you! We will be joined by entrepreneurs who know what it takes to turn passion and ideas into a healthy business, and will explore considerations for how to get started.
Spirit Week Raffle & Prizes
Tune in and win prizes! We’ll be announcing our raffle winners - Youth who attend at least 1 workshop during Spirit Week will be entered into our Wild Card raffle and we’ll be giving prizes to participants who attend the most workshops!
Community Picnic!
Friday 7/16 from 12-3PM
Open to all youth, families and staff.
Join us for a bit of fun in the sun at our Community Picnic in Central Park! We’ll have Subway sandwiches for lunch, music and games, and activities for all, including a 1PM Yoga Class with Grace Geracioti, MSW.
Directions
Enter the park at Central Park West and 7th Avenue. Walk through the Dipway Arch and join us on the lawn. We’ll be across from Heckscher Playground, just look for the purple balloons!
